7 Pin electrics

  • 7 pin towing electrics are the most common type of wiring system in the UK.

  • Mainly used to tow trailers, 7 pin electrics could also be compatible with bike carriers and some caravans.

  • Can be used with the 13 pin electric system with the use of an adapter.

13 Pin electrics

  • 13 pin electrics are becoming the increasingly popular choice of system in the UK, widely fitted on trailers, bike carriers and caravans.

  • 13 pin offers more features than 7 pin including a reversing light, and also power to the caravan's interior lights, battery, and fridge.

  • It can also used to charge a leisure battery fitted on a tipper trailer, caravan or trailer tent.

  • Can be used with the 7 pin and twin electric system with the use of an adapter.

Twin electrics

  • Twin electrics are suitable for use on older caravans, tipper trailers and trailer tents.

  • It also offers use of a reversing light and is similar to the 13 pin system.

  • Can be used with the 13 pin electric system with the use of an adapter.
